Escaping the Haze in Thailand

October 2015 pt 2

With a two week half term, we felt it was necessary to visit two countries.  So once we had returned from Meleka it was almost time for our trip to Thailand.

We visited Koh Lanta in Thailand and stayed at the Crown Lanta, or Royal Lanta or ... , depending which hotel agency booking website you go on, this hotel has more names than a Malaysian prince.
Having grown up watching Watchdog, this didn't bode well!

We couldn't have been more wrong - it's amazing!

The resort, the spa, the staff, the food, the cocktails...

We travelled three hours from Krabi International Airport and were exhausted when we arrived.   The journey included a couple of ferry trips and the life jackets were easily on hand, just in case!

This bridge, to link the islands, may soon make the ferry obsolete.   There are so many people working on the ferries that it makes you wonder how they will make a living when the bridge opens.

Although it is overcast - the haze has followed us - the small hotel beach is still a lovely little haven.

Above the beach is a viewing balcony which links the beach with the pool area.   This is the perfect place to sit, day or night, to take in the fresh air and scenery.

Buy one get one free at the pool bar is followed by BOGOF at the Reggie Bar - four hours of cocktails!!!

Another place to sit of an evening is the Reggie Bar.   With music on a loop and entertainment, this is a good spot to sit and watch the sunset.   Especially with BOGOF cocktails!

Most days were spent at the main pool or at the smaller pool with our swim-up room.  Lazing around and reading books is a family hobby.   And having been here over a year, we now know the importance of covering up!

And the best place in the hotel was the restaurant.   Breakfast was amazing.   The view from the room, the visitors and the food - all made the best start to your day.
